Paul Rabbitt Bio

Paul Rabbitt, President of Rabbitt Analytics, was previously Senior Portfolio Strategist at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. He joined Oppenheimer in 1978 as a stockbroker and was named Senior Vice President in 1985, Chief Quantitative Portfolio Strategist in 1991, and Senior Portfolio Strategist in 1996.

Paul created and ran the Quantitative Department of the firm from 1992 to 1998. He has been ranked in the top eight quantitative strategists by Institutional Investor Magazine and has been a featured analyst in Stocks and Commodities Magazine. Paul is also a frequent commentator on CNBC, CNNfn, Street.com, Reuters, and Bloomberg.

As an academic at Pepperdine University, his graduate research thesis, entitled "Technical, Monetary and Psychological Indicators as Predictors of the S&P 500," received national and international accolades. Paul was invited to present his findings at the London School of Economics. He travels abroad frequently and is highly regarded by European and Middle Eastern institutions.

Using computer models, Paul forecasts which industries, sectors and stocks are most likely to outperform the market. These results have been published monthly since 1992. For his conclusions, which are written weekly, see Market Opinion.

In 1998, Paul founded RabbittAnalytics.com  to assist investors utilizing the Internet for stock market research. He advises institutional clients on style and theme leadership trends and provides sector and industry forecasts based on his statistical analysis of consensus earnings revisions, P/book, P/cash-flow, P/sales, P/dividend, money flow, and relative strength.

Another of Paul's achievements is the development of the "Q" Stock Ranking system, a twelve-factor stock risk/return model that has ranked 2,500 stocks every trading day since 1992 with an exceptional track record (performance).  The Q-rank system includes earnings surprises/revisions, earnings consistency, earnings acceleration, valuation, relative strength, money flow, and Q Industry Strength.

Paul writes his research from La Quinta, California where he resides with his family. He also has been a guitarist/ songwriter for over twenty years, and leads musical worship at his church on weekends. He can be found on the golf course once a week and is a fitness buff and fly fisherman.
